Barratt Developments is seeking a Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team at 1a Fortune Close. This permanent position offers stability, hands-on responsibility, and the chance to contribute to large-scale residential developments across the UK.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be an integral part of the site logistics team, ensuring timely and efficient material distribution that supports the construction programme.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing deliveries and ensuring materials are accurately received and stored
- Maintaining and operating the forklift truck daily, including inspections and basic maintenance
- Ensuring health and safety standards are followed at all times
- Communicating proactively with site management about inventory, material needs, and potential delays
- Supporting site labouring duties when required
- Ensuring waste materials are disposed of correctly to support site sustainability
You’ll be working on varied developments, from brownfield projects to adaptive reuse of historic buildings—every site offers something unique.

What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A valid Forklift Truck driver’s licence
- A full UK Driving Licence
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent
- Experience on large-scale construction or housing developments
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently
- Solid understanding of construction site health and safety practices
